Are certifications uselful ?

I am planning to get a certification in ccna or mcse.
Is it any good to get a job ?
They have even raised the fees for the exams. each exam costing around Rs. 12,500.
Thoughts ?

Networking certifications are not good to get a job now, as you guys already know the job market is really down, the only job available is in the testing side. That too they are only replacing the less competent once with new recruits so you need to add one new skill every year, IT is getting really tough to survive these days

I would tell you to go ahead with the CCNA certification.. its because communication is the only field which would not attain saturation. And i had been told by many that these certification courses are really helpful during the recruitment process as it you would be considered a special candidate in a group of people who do not have any certification.. So i would prefer you to go ahead with the exam..
